My friend advised me to do three things.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, who said: My close friend, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, advised me to do three things that I will never abandon until I die: fasting three days of every month, praying Duha, and sleeping after praying Witr. (Sahih Al-Bukhari ) The Prophet , may God bless him and grant him peace, used to guide his companions and advise them on everything that was good for their religion and their worldly affairs. He, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to urge them and encourage them to do voluntary work. In this hadith, Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, says: My friend advised me with the first advice: fasting three days of every month. The days were given in general terms without specification, so he can choose from the month whatever he wants. It was said: It is more desirable and preferable to fast the three days in the middle of the month, which are called the white days, which are the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of every month, due to the hadiths that indicate them. By fasting them, one attains the reward of fasting an entire month, considering that a good deed is multiplied tenfold. So, whoever fasts them every month, it is as if he fasted the entire year. The second commandment is the Duha prayer, also called the Tasbih prayer. It is a voluntary prayer performed during the Duha prayer. The time for the Duha prayer is after sunrise, the length of a spear. According to modern times, it is estimated at a quarter of an hour after sunrise. Its time also extends to a quarter of an hour before noon. The minimum number of rak’ahs is two, and there is disagreement regarding the maximum number. It was said: Eight rak’ahs, and it was said: There is no limit to the maximum. The third recommendation: Witr, which is the prayer at the end of the night, and it is a prayer performed after the ‘Isha’ prayer until the break of dawn. It was called that because it is prayed as Witr; one rak’ah, or three, or more. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, recommended to Abu Hurayrah, may God be pleased with him, in this hadith to pray it before sleeping, and perhaps he recommended that to him; Because he feared that he would miss the prayer due to sleeping, it was said: There is no contradiction between the advice of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, to perform the witr prayer before sleeping, and the agreed upon hadith of Aisha , may God be pleased with her: “And his witr prayer ended at dawn,” because the first is for the sake of precaution, and the second is for someone who knows that he has the strength to do so.
