The doctrine of stubbornness

Blind stubbornness is not just a behavioral defect, but rather a symptom that indicates a profound defect in the human cognitive structure, and it is a blatant manifestation of the self-centeredness around the “illusion of correctness.” Blind stubbornness is not just a behavioral flaw. Rather, it is a symptom that indicates a profound flaw in a person’s cognitive structure. It is a blatant manifestation of self-centeredness around the “illusion of correctness,” whereby a person’s convictions turn into deaf walls that prevent the truth from passing through, even if it is as clear as the sun. Its owner lives in a state of cognitive closure, rejecting the “critical mirror” and becoming fed up with any external voice that threatens his psychological architecture, which he has found comfortable, even if it is based on falsehood. What is more dangerous is that when stubbornness becomes established, it turns into an emotional belief that its owner defends with the same zeal with which he is supposed to defend the truth, thus tipping the scales of understanding and stealing its compass. When you contemplate this pattern, you realize how self-victimization can extinguish the lamps of insight, and how “emotional excitement,” if not controlled by the light of revelation and the virtues of reason, can lead to a lifetime of extinction within a cycle of harmful stubbornness. In the Holy Quran : { And they denied it, although their souls were certain of it }, so that you understand that stubbornness does not negate certainty , but rather indicates that denial may be a psychological decision, not scientific ignorance. 3 0131sharing
