Uncles, aunts, maternal uncles and aunts of the best of mankind
Ibn Saad said: (Muhammad is the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, the pure, the blessed, the master of the Muslims, the leader of the pious, the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds, the son of Abdullah, the son of Abdul Muttalib, the son of Hashim, the son of Abd Manaf, the son of Qusayy, and his mother is Amina bint Wahb, the son of Abd Manaf, the son of Zuhra, the son of Kilab) ((Al-Tabaqat Al-Kubra)) (3/7). Ibn Hisham said: “Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim gave birth to ten men and six women: Al-Abbas, Hamza, Abdullah, Abu Talib – whose name was Abd Manaf – Al-Zubayr, Al-Harith, Hajla, Al-Muqawwam, Dirar, Abu Lahab – whose name was Abd Al-Uzza – Safiyya, Umm Hakim Al-Bayda, Atikah, Umaimah, Arwa, and Barra.” (Sirat Ibn Hisham) (1/108). The maternal uncles of the Prophet , may God bless him and grant him peace, are: Banu Zuhra, including: Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf ibn Abd Awf ibn Abd ibn al-Harith ibn Zuhra, and Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas, who is Malik ibn Uhayb ibn Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra. Among the maternal uncles of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was Abdullah ibn al-Arqam ibn Abd Yaghuth ibn Wahb, who was the maternal uncle of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He converted to Islam on the day of the conquest, and wrote for the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and for Abu Bakr and Umar. Among the maternal uncles of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, are: Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn Abd Yaghuth ibn Wahb, and al-Miswar ibn Makhrama ibn Nawfal ibn Uhayb ibn Abd Manaf ibn Zuhra, as in Sahih al-Bukhari , Hadith No. (3505). Among the Prophet’s aunts, may God bless him and grant him peace, was Khalidah bint Al-Aswad bin Abd Yaghuth bin Wahb bin Abd Manaf bin Zuhra. Ibn Habib said: She was a righteous woman among the emigrants. She was mentioned in the hadith of Aisha that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered upon her and saw a woman with her, so he said: “Who is this?” She said: One of your aunts: Khalidah bint Al-Aswad. Among the maternal uncles of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, from the people of Medina are: Banu Adi ibn al-Najjar from the Khazraj, because the mother of Abdul Muttalib, Salma bint Amr, was from Banu Adi ibn al-Najjar. Among Banu al-Najjar is Anas ibn Malik, the servant of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
